Pickards Butchers are a family-run business that has grown from a small pork butchers shop to a thriving butchers & delicatessen offering much more than your basic meat shop.

The enterprise all started in 1989 when David & his mum Jean took over the small pork shop. Through introducing more lines1912481_649701085147010_5715845013052631414_n such as beef and lamb they saw a gradual rise in customers and therefore larger premises were needed.

In 1993 they bought the property next door and extended the shop to introduce the delicatessen side of the business, offering sandwiches and more cooked produce. Extra space inside the premises also meant the business could start up an outside catering service.

As the enterprise began to grow even further so did the need for a larger bakery, and in 1997 David & Jean bought another property, this time across the road (now the bakery) which enabled them to offer a wider choice of homemade pies, pastries, and confectionery.

The shop itself now boasts over 60 feet of refrigerated display counters and offers a wide range of products.

In 2003 David’s mum Jean decided to retire after a lot of hard work and the business is now owned and run by David and his wife Donna along with all the staff.
